Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also sings. She was first in her age group to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar star. She is both the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her first few years of her life moving between London as well as New Delhi. When she was only 13 when her first performance was in New Delhi took place. After that, she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her youth. Since quite some time, she performs regularly alongside her father. In 1998, she debuted her first self-titled album Anourag. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy nominated album Live At Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues as well, she has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka's career does not only involve music. Bapi the The Love of My Live, a biographical picture dedicating to her dad Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003, she appeared as a character in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will keep on growing. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England was a major part of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she completed the high school. She began learning music when she was nine years old and was a sitar player in celebration of the 75th anniversary the birth of her father in Delhi four years later. Anoushka was able to gain numerous valuable experience when she accompanied her father during his worldwide tour. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals and performing with George Harrison. Her artistry and musicianship was recognized by British parliament as the best in Asian Arts.
